The Top 3 Bunk Beds For Kids

The world of childrens’ bedding is a big one, with products ranging from Spiderman to forts and all different types of materials and accessories.  As we do with all of the posts on this site, our goal was to narrow down the choices to products that we think represent a good balance between price and features.

Beyond user reviews, we also considered factors like entertainment value, comfort, and too many other things to mention.  If you’ve read any of of the other posts on this site, you know we recommend high quality products that sometimes come with matching price tags.  We firmly believe that you get what you pay for, so you won’t find any cheap bunk beds for kids here!

Here are the 3 best kids bunk beds that we could find:

Powell BoysPowell Boys Twin Tent Bunk Bed

This is one of the best kids beds we found because of its unique design.  Taking the form of a multi-tiered tent structure, the Powell Boys bed is perfect for active children (and what children aren’t active?).

Additionally, this bed comes with a cool slide that serves as an alternative way to get out of the bed, adding a little bit excitement to getting up in the morning!

The tent part of the bed features removable plastic windows so your kids can actually see out of their fort, making this product great not only for sleeping but also playtime.  It really doesn’t get much better than this for the money.

South ShoreThe South Shore Furniture Complete Loft Bed

The South Shore bed takes a very different approach to its design than most traditional bunk beds.  Instead, the top bunk sits above a regular bed, but its side also doubles as a “study.”

I’ve actually had the pleasure of seeing this unit in action at a friend’s house, and his kids seem to love it!  One really neat design feature of this bed is the ladder which runs up the left side of the bunk.  Most of the cheap bunk beds for kids that I’ve seen online feature bulky, rickety ladders that stick out into the middle of the room, so the South Shore design is a breath of fresh air when it comes to contemporary design.

When it comes to safety, this bed has you covered with lots of rounded edges and places to grip for stability.

Walker EdisonThe Walker Edison Twin Over Fall Bunk Bed

This is by far the most affordable bed on the list, and it’s an extremely solid contender despite the lower price tag.

Unlike most cheap bunk beds for kids, the Walker Edison bed is very stable, and the user reviews online seem to back this up quite a bit.

One word of warning about this bunk bed:  On average, it takes about an hour to put it together, and this was really the only complaint I read about this product.  If you don’t mind a little more assembly time, you’ll end up with a bunk bed that looks great, keeps your kids safe with solid build quality, and all at a price that no reasonable person could argue with.
